Towering mountain ranges and endless sandy beaches have been the atmospheric backdrop to my life, creating an intrinsic love for the natural world around me. Even though I love a sunny day as much as the next person, I find myself drawn more to the majestic and moody sides of nature. The stormy sea, the threatening clouds, the mist covered hills, the dark imposing forests....they feel like home to me.  

 

I currently live on, and am inspired by, the north east coast of Scotland. Where the waves crash against jagged rock formations one day, but list lazily along sandy beaches the next.   Clouds are pink and orange in the morning, but arch menacingly over you with a slate coloured promise of rain by noon. It is a glorious place to live and paint.   

 

I try to capture a bit of this majesty in my paintings. I hope when you look at them, you can glimpse a snapshot of the beauty I see as well.
